General comment This dataset is part of a set of LCI datasets for CCUS (carbon capture, utilisation and storage) technologies developed in Korea. Microalgae fix CO2 by photosynthesis in open raceway ponds; the biomass is dewatered, hydrolysed, the lipids are extracted, and the fatty acids and carbohydrates are oxidised and upgraded to diesel-range hydrocarbons (drop-in diesel), with naphtha and light gases as co-products. It is a partly terminated system: CO2 and hydrogen are left open and must be linked by the user; the other supply chains are included in aggregated form. The data are based on NREL techno-economic models of an integrated algal biorefinery, scaled to a hypothetical plant in Namhae, Korea. |
