Burdens were allocated by the PlasticsEurope Eco-profiles method (main and additional products); results are not directly comparable with datasets allocated by other methods. General comment This dataset is part of a set of LCI datasets for low-carbon petrochemical technologies developed in Korea. Polymer-grade ethylene is produced in a naphtha cracking centre in which the fired cracking furnaces are replaced by electrically heated cracking (dry cracking with electricity as heat source), so that no fuel is burned in the cracking step. The naphtha cracking centre (NCC) consists of cracking, quench, compression and separation/purification. Only the cracking step is replaced; the downstream steps are modelled as in the conventional NCC, and the cracking products are assumed to be the same as in the conventional NCC.
